Knot count: 12 H x 10 V = 120 kpsi.
Colours: red, coral pink, maroon,light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, brown-black (corroded), ivory (9).
Condition: original sides, brocaded top end and lower closures, with top end fraying slightly on the sides. Full pile with one area of moth damage.
Notes: an iconic example for the type. Published in Edoardo Concaro, Alberto Levi, ‘Sovrani Tappeti’, Milano 1999, plate 62, p. 83 (catalogue of an exhibition of antique weavings from Italian collections held in Milano during the 9th ICOC). This and the following bag face were part of my private collection for many years, hanging side by side in my old living room.
