A Collection of Exquisite Small Persian Tribal Weavings

Complete Pile double khorjin
Shahsavan Confederacy
Northwest Persia
Circa 1880
86 x 36 cm (34 x 14 in.)

Knot count: 18 H x 10 V = 180 kpsi
Colours: red, rose, apricot, light blue, dark blue, emerald green, camel, dark brown, ivory (9).
Condition: excellent, full pile and complete in every respect.
Notes: woven over cotton warps with a single natural wool weft shoot. The elongated knots are typical of a cluster of Shahsavan weavings, as indicated by Wendel Swan on a post on Turkotek. A fabulous complete saddle bag in mint condition. That particular blue-green shade of the background is my most favourite colour in weavings.
