Only very seldomly do we see early twentieth-century Chinese carpets decorated by patterns more suited to western tastes. This example is composed of a complex interlace of geometric forms intersecting at various levels. The graphic style and the restrained palette impart this piece with a particularly 'minimal' feel, making it particularly appealing for today's taste.
