circa 1860
cm 210 x 589 (6'11 x 19'4")

Notes: symmetrical knot on a wool foundation
A rare and dramatic example woven in the kelleh format decorated by a lozenge-shaped saffron-yellow medallion on an indigo-blue background and by spandrels composed of four empty triangles, Given the uniqueness of such a large elongated format it is possible that this carpet was commissioned by a Bakhtiari tribechief.
