A minimalist mulberry purple Berber runner originates from the Rehamna area near Marrakesh. In the 16th century, a huge fish-rich lake occupied this region. The nearby Rehamna massif, dense with trees, earned the name “Green Mountain.” Both Arab (El Araba) and Saharan (El Rherraba) groups settled in this attractive area.

Rehamna tribal rugs fall into two categories: qtifa and zarbiya. Qtifa rugs feature monochromatic red fields. Zarbiya rugs often display designs in an abstract, ancient language. Qtifa rugs showcase various shades of red, appealing to modern tastes. This runner’s mulberry pink/purple hue will brighten any corridor. It adds a relaxing touch of Moroccan spice to the space.
