Ziegler & Co., an Anglo-Swiss firm, wove this antique Ziegler carpet in the late 19th century near Arak. Artisans masterfully dyed wool yarns to create an almost translucent effect, rendering classic Persian patterns in highly refined colors. This carpet features an allover pattern of repeating stylized leaf motifs called ‘herati’. The refined stylization distinguishes authentic Ziegler carpets. Soft palette and aristocratic design blend in perfect harmony. This combination makes Ziegler carpets highly sought-after among antique decorative rugs. Historically, prestigious Western interiors have showcased these exquisite pieces.
