This finely woven antique Chinese large oval carpet comes from the best workshops in Beijing. It is distinguished by its oval format and characterized by a tone-on-tone leaf pattern in off beige-gold colors, framed by a border of stylized dragons with touches of soft blue.
Carpets of this type represent the highest quality of workmanship for early 20th-century Chinese weavings. They draw inspiration from the Imperial Ningxia rugs of the 18th century.
