The soft palette of this antique Anatolian Oushak is characteristic of this group of carpets from the late Ottoman period. The pale salmon rose background is embellished by an ogival ivory central medallion and surrounded by celadon green spandrels. The ivory border framing the field is decorated by scrolling palmettes and rosettes, which contributes to the overall lightness of the composition. This is a carpet of timeless elegance and refinement.
