This antique Zeikhur rug with a teal background is a fine and rare example distinguished by a fairly unique teal green background onto which are layered two large red medallions with abstract zoomorphic elements and stepped contours, each encapsulating an ivory star-like device containing stylised vegetal motifs. An ivory quadruped curiously embellishes the four corners of the open field. The original narrow border is quite characteristic of this Caucasian family of weavings.
